Place, People and Partnerships!
Newport, and its partners, have a vision – use our existing infrastructure to make Newport a regional technology hub that creates and attracts high demand technology jobs to our community, our region, and our state. Our plan is multifaceted and takes a very disciplined approach to growth. The impact will be transformational and generational!
DTech Park represents a public-private partnership that is focused on creating a high-tech environment, that will produce high-demand job opportunities in northeast Arkansas through talent development, corporate recruitment, remote work sites, and strategic partnerships.
DTech Park provides a physical place
Leveraging downtown Newport’s historic feel, outdoor event spaces, and current amenities (restaurants, a craft distillery, office space, etc.) provides a location for entrepreneurs, innovators, technologies, and educators to come together. Complimenting the social infrastructure is a state-of-the-art fiber optic backbone which provides reliable high-speed internet. Investments in technology infrastructure, such as public wifi, new training facilities, and existing meeting and co-working spaces will serve as an attraction to companies and talent as well.
DTech Park is about people
The greatest asset of any company is its people. And in the technology sector, there’s a great shortage of tech talent. Newport sees this as an opportunity. Tech Depot will offer IT training that is customized for employers, accessible for all levels of talent, and is geared towards high-demand tech jobs in software development, cybersecurity, data analytics, IT infrastructure, and more. The innovative apprenticeship approach for IT talent has already demonstrated the ability to draw highly motivated, talented individuals into these career fields.
